We Tiger fans couldn't help but snicker at this morning's news. Dapper Dave did what we all said he'd do in Boston.....loot the farm system, put the parent club far over the salary cap, and hope to hell they won a world series. They did. Dave is a winner but at what price? He left Montreal and Miami looted and broke. He left Detroit...fired by telephone...when Mike Ilitich discovered he was angling for a deal in Boston,...which he got. And now the BoSox have seen enough. In his defense, he knows minor league talent but can't seem to draft well. Few of his traded farm kids have gone on to become stars elsewhere. I bet he was in a bad mood when the owner called last night, and said something he shouldn't have said. Like the old saying goes...better a season too soon than a season too late. Dave will land on his feet....he interviews very well. He's under contract for next year so he'll probably ride out the 2020 season and be back in the saddle somewhere the year after.
