'The Department of Justice is (desperately) firing back at House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan after Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray were subpoenaed by the House Judiciary Committee, saying that issuing subpoenas is "premature."

'No need for subpoenas'
"We remain ready to discuss next steps for the Department to address your informational needs while also respecting Executive Branch interests," wrote Carlos Felipe Uriarte, assistant attorney general for the Office of Legislative Affairs. "We have offered to engage with the Committee and provide information voluntarily, so a subpoena is premature."

After the GOP took over the House, in order to stall the Republicans, Democrats and the partisanly weopanized DOJ & FBI told the Republicans they would have to re-submit every RFI (request for information and documents) they had previously submitted.

Garland even told Congress (McCarthy, Jordan, House Republicans) he would NOT comply with requests for information unless HE saw fit to do so, that he would be more than willing to DISCUSS what information HE would be WILLING to release.

They (Drmocrats and Garland) thought they were being pretty smart...

"The overwhelming majority of congressional requests for information are resolved through voluntary discussion and cooperation."
-- US AG Garland

Yeah, Garland showed his definition of 'voluntary discussion and cooperation' was to stall, tell the Republicans they had to resubmit every one of their requests again, and tell McCarthy, Jordan, and Republicans they would only get what he - Garland - wanted to / decided to give them.

That is exactly why Garland and Wray are pushing back against Jordan's subpoenas.

Jordan, through these legal, official subpoenas, just told them, 'F* you, you had your chance, you chose to be assholes, now playtime is OVER!'

'Last week, Jordan
subpoenaed Wray, compelling him to turn over documents and communications related to the FBI’s "misuse of federal criminal and counterterrorism resources" to target parents at school board meetings.

Jordan also subpoenaed Garland and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona for documents related to the same matter.

The subpoena compelled Wray to turn over documents to the committee at 9 a.m. ET on March 1.

It also demanded documents related to the Justice Department’s task force that focused on identifying school board threats and the FBI’s role as a member of that task force.
'

'Discussion' OVER! 'Stalling' OVER!

US AG Garland and FBI Director Wray, under lawful subpoena, must hand over all requested documents to Jordan NLT 9 a.m. EST on 1 March, 2023 or be guilty of violating a Congressional subpoena!

The DOJ and FBI can give Jordan all the documents he asked for. It doesn't matter.
The DOJ isn't going to indict Garland or Wray.
We need the real FBI agents to step up and name names, and provide evidence, like that gal did today.

The idea perhaps is to finally expose them for what they are. Even if there are no indictments it sure sets a nice stage for the 2024 election since these people are under control of the Democrat party.

DOJ fucked around and is about to find out.

How dare mere .gov employees think they can pick and choose when it comes to answering questions under oath and/or providing the documents required.

Nothing will happen.
Short of sending in the military, who will make these bastards comply?

Agreed.
But then what happens?
Unless the good guys are willing to go to battle with the corrupt ones, it dies with a strongly worded memo.

Subpoenas! Bwahaha.

I'm not even sure why Garland testified today. Shouldn't Biden have claimed executive privilege?

Who gives two fucks about subpoenas?

Biden is so brain dead he thinks 'Executive Privilege' is his right to violate both Constitution and law to do whatever he wants.
Thanks for your opinion.

Anyhow, do you have an opinion on why Biden didn't order EP for Garland when he easily could have?

Hey Garland: FUCK YOU, you scumbag.

You're going to testify. UNDER OATH.

Or you can kiss your job, AND your reputation, goodbye.

He stammered through the whole thing. He seemed partially in shock after getting hit between the eyes with a 2x4.

He even declared he agreed with Hawley that a heavily armed FBI raid on a family's home - with kids present - to make a local issue a national matter was unnecessary / excessive.

Yeah, and what did / will he/the DOJ do about it? Not a damn thing.

A stunning report in Wednesday’s Washington Post details the tensions between FBI agents and Justice Department attorneys over the August raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Florida home.

FBI officials were leery of the plan, and pleaded for a more measured approach, while DOJ prosecutors were hell-bent on a surprise incursion to search for classified documents:

Prosecutors argued that new evidence suggested Trump was knowingly concealing secret documents at his Palm Beach, Fla., home and urged the FBI to conduct a surprise raid at the property. But two senior FBI officials who would be in charge of leading the search resisted the plan as too combative and proposed instead to seek Trump’s permission to search his property, according to the four people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe a sensitive investigation.
