So that's to get a tattoo I would have to have someone come at me with a needle/machine, carving ink into my skin?
That would never happen in a 'million' years.
Do I like tattoos on other people?
Some look nice, some look ok, some look not so good...to my eyes.
None of my business though, what other people choose to do.
It would become my business though if I were an employer.
In my world, in the past, tattoos were called "job-killers".
As were "piercings".
At an up-market restaurant, for example, the clientele might expect a certain standard of grooming by the staff there.
Could be that visible tattoos, and visible piercings might not meet that standard.
Also, in major law firms, marketing firms etc wishing to project an up-market/professional image.
Tattoos were seen as "bogan".

The term is used to describe someone whose speech, clothing, or attitudes are considered unrefined.
Who knows what goes on today, with every second youngish woman I see having a tattoo.
