Certainly over the last decade or so, I don't think there's any doubt that there appears a growing gap between the Left Wing and Right Wing. So I was looking into reasons etc. -

Even the distinction between liberal and conservative is only capturing parts of the picture. The true division can be found in Oikophobia and Oikophilia – or, to put it into plain English – between those who hate their own country and culture and those who love it (we had a great conversation on this topic with philosopher and classical scholar Benedict Beckeld).

A significant part of the political Left has signed up for the former, while most of the political Right still belongs to the latter
.

For me, the link above sums up the different articles I was scanning over. Political forums are a great place for information from Liberals and Conservatives, and the scary part is, this article hits the nail on the head. I noticed how the UK Left forever berate the NHS, embrace the EU dictatorship, and embrace illegal immigration etc.. I see the same scenario in the US.

I didn't realise it was called Oikophobia and Oikophilia.

I find it not different that the mindset of Democrats when reaching back to the 30's and 40's in the 20th Century.
Democrats then were the purveyors of the KKK, eugenics, discrimination, segregation, anti-semitism etc.
Indeed it took individuals like Truman and Eisenhower to begin attacking these issues and received great resistance from the Democrat faction of politics.

High points:
President Harry Truman issued Executive Order 9981 on July 26, 1948, which mandated the desegregation of the U.S. Armed Forces.
President Eisenhower was hesitant about enforcing school desegregation, but he took significant action during the Little Rock Crisis in 1957 by sending federal troops to protect nine African American students attempting to integrate Central High School.

I challenge anybody to create ven diagrams of two subsets. One sunset is Democrat. The other sunset is liberal.

Did you notice how they didn't overlap at all?
