Many of them refuse to respond to an email asking them to list 5 bullet points describing what they did this week. Well, at least nobody is trying to give them a shot that may give them a permanent heart condition.

The reason employees objected is because they are still butthurt from losing the election and they don't want to do what they're told by the new president.
That is a perfect way to justify their firing, because when you refuse to do what your boss tells you to do, you can expect to be fired and or replaced by somebody who will do their damn job. This is why Obama made it a firable offense to participate in any political activities including on social media.

To keep our I.D. badge current and able to be used to log in every day to post our work hours, we had to complete classes and other requirements all during the year. If you failed to complete your required tasks, your I.D. badge certificates were revoked, and makeup classes had to be completed before certificates were re-instated. If you're going to continue to work for the federal government you're going to have to respond to their communications, especially if you're working from home.
