This used to be resolved by hiring people that want to go to work. How long do you think it will be before every one of the no shows holler discrimination and we're back where we started? Actually it is a good plan and makes sense.

They are essentially giving these people a pay raise, which will encourage them to do better.

A local hospital did something like this with their RNs a couple years back.

We just sent billions to Ukraine for their war vs Russia and to Israel to support their genocide in Gaza. The US federal government can very easily raise wages for 1st responders without causing inflation, being that such expenses constitute investments in our infrastructure. Making sure 911 operators gave more money for their living expenses is a good thing and if you're a working-class person you should be happy that your fellow workers are getting their wages raised and improving their standard of living.
