Leviticus 16 & 17
Leviticus 23:27

This is the day the High Priest would carry the blood of the bull and goats through the veil and into the Most Holy Place in the Tabernacle-the Holy of Holies.

The High Priest of the Israelites would then pour the blood onto the altar over the Ark of the Covenant and, in doing so, make atonement for the children of Israel (Leviticus 17:11).

The Book of Hebrews chapters 9 and 10 tells that the blood of the bulls and goats offered up to the LORD in the ancient Temple on the Day of Atonement was a foreshadowing of the blood of Jesus. Through the death and shed blood of Jesus, we are forgiven once and for all. Praise God, "Hallelujah"

For many, this day is a time for thinking and worshipping Jesus-Yeshua for his sacrifice and for forgiving us our sins. Another prophetic aspect of this feast has yet to be fulfilled- which is the turning of the Jewish people to Jesus (Messiah Yeshua) as according to Zechariah 12:10.

When he returns he will lift the veil from their eyes. The Gook of Revelation foretells this glorious event.

"Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him even those who pierced him. So it is to be, Amen.
Rev1:7
Romans 11:26
All Israel shall be saved.

My wife is at the Washington DC Mall today with several other women from local churches. They're having a "million women" gathering there on the Day of Atonement, to fast and pray in unity as a "last stand" moment for America.

Oh wow, that is just awesome. What a great experience for your wife. Hopefully she will learn a lot, and return with so much information to share with others. That is one of the many experiences of a lifetime.

Yom Kippur is known as "The Day" The day of the end times. One of the kōhănīm, which is an appointed meeting with God. The Temple Mount of the future.

Yom Kippur is also apo-ca-lupso = Take Away The Veil

The day of the Apo-ca-lupso = Taking away the veil. The removing of the veil. In Greek it is apocalypse.

Yom Kippur is judgment
It is said that this is the feast where God decides who will live and who will die within the next year.
According to tradition, God judges all creatures during the 10 Days of Awe between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, deciding whether they will live or die in the coming year. Jewish law teaches that God inscribes the names of the righteous in the “book of life” and condemns the wicked to death on Rosh Hashanah; people who fall between the two categories have until Yom Kippur to perform “teshuvah,” or repentance. As a result, observant Jews consider Yom Kippur and the days leading up to it a time for prayer, good deeds, reflecting on past mistakes and making amends with others.

Not quit a million so far, but a pretty big crowd.

I asked for forgiveness and also for this new year to be fair to me. Hopefully I will regain my health and secure enough economic freedom from the sale of my home that I will at least have me more relaxed that I have some retirement savings.

There are too many people who feign faith and a belief in G-d. I find it insulting as it is impossible to fool the one you most need to convince.

I consider myself a Noahide. It took me some time and perhaps even intervention to get me there though I had been peripherally interested in Judaism for decades.

The prayer Koi Nidre nullifies all contracts, wows, promises etc, so you're allowed to cheat, to rob, to steal without God's punishment.

Repent was defined by the ancient Jews the same as the Christians who came later. Repent means to change your mind, do it differently, do it better, do it righteously. With no repentance there is can be no forgiveness.

Just confessing/admitting our sin and saying we are sorry is not change. Repentence is change. I believe that when you repent, God who offers his salvation by grace forgives your sin and will not hold you accountable for it in His Heaven. But those who continue in the same sin haven't repented have they? Not sure what God does with those--it's His call, not mine--but I can't find any scripture that suggests there are no consequences for that.

Lev. 16 is the best one-chapter description of the Day of Atonement in scripture. For those who have eyes to see, the whole New Testament is contained within that one chapter. Jesus is there, John the Baptist is there, and that Man of Sin is there. If you see them, no preacher will ever lead you astray.
