Damn! The Chinese are getting very good at this!

I keep hearing about the the financial woes facing China and how they are about ready to collapse. I keep hearing about how poor the quality of life is over there for the average Chinese citizen. I keep hearing about how their technology is inferior to ours.

But that's not what I'm seeing....no..not at all.

Not true. Now I understand that mine is anecdotal in nature but we opened a plant in China. We operated a process that created filament for things like make up brushes. It was pretty labor intensive.

The company wanted to move the production to China. They created the infrastructure. Sent people over to train them.

What happened was that the Chinese workers knew that the American workers were getting far more money than they were and refused to do the work.

The product is still being made here.

Without making any value judgments on their system and for purely pragmatic reasons it is important to actually examine the progress they are making. This isn't to make a compliment simply to make an observation.
