Republicans are making a foolish mistake by saying they think that making investments in housing and energy are so-called 'Democrat priorities.'

Cutting the EPA as a 'Democrat priority.' Do you know what this country looked like before the EPA?

Rivers in rural areas were on fire because of corporations poisoning the people who lived in those areas. Poor, middle-class communities getting poisoned and dumped on by corporations — like DuPont and 3M — pouring chemicals into these places.

You're damn well right that it's a Democratic priority to keep people from getting poisoned by identifying dangerous chemicals that are being dumped and causing cancer in people without their knowledge.

You're damn right that it's a Democratic priority to bring down the cost of housing, and mortgages, and rent.

And you're damn right that it's a Democratic priority to raise the minimum wage in this country to allow people to get a fair shot at the American dream.

If they want to say that's a 'Democratic priority' — they're right. And they are targeting all of us with this.

And it's important for us to remember that these priorities are actually not partisan at all.

None of those issues are legitimate problems for the Federal Government/Congress to be legislating or authorizing money for under Article I, Section 8 and the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America.

EPA has done it's job, original mandate. It is now seeking standards and compliances that go beyond normal, natural levels in order to justify it's existence/growth. It can be reduced to small size needed to maintain what is in effect.

Cost of housing has skyrocketed because of Democrat driven government regulations and taxes becoming 30-40% of the costs for new builds, and existing/resales. The Dimbocrats made the mess and haven't a clue how to fix it.

Raise minimum wages results in raised costs, and sometimes broke businesses. No net gain for anyone and creates an unfair and non-existant "shot at the American Dream".

Republicans I know are for solutions that are realistic, affordable and sustainable while reducing government meddling and interference.

Democrats think of wealth and the economy as one big pie that needs to be constantly re-sliced into "equal" sized pieces so all can get their "fair share".

Republicans see the solution for wealth and economy is to make more pie !

I lived within sight of FMC/AVTEX FIBERS, INC. which became the largest Superfund site in America at the time in the '80s.

It was so polluted it took over 20 years to get it cleaned-up.

LOL....A friend got a job on that site with the EPA when it first started the demolition....He retired before it was finished!

You have no faith in your dictums though. Those polluted areas are in foreign nations now making all of the products you need to live. And rather more cheaply. So, you can pontificate your allegiance to mother nature without reducing your comforts in life. That is for others to suffer.

I say if voters would receive actual paybacks for their tax dollars democrat politicians would not need as much money for campaigns. For example putting Single Payer Health Insurance on the nation wide ballots so that WE are making the decision. Let’s not be stupid WE know that elected officials are accepting campaign money from the health care/insurance industry is a huge conflict of interest.

Which is why placing the issue on a nation wide ballot is the only way to keep dark money out of this issue.

You must like paying taxes or something. Tariffs worked just fine before the IRS was founded in 1913, they were the US government's primary source of revenue.

Personally, I believe taxation is theft and it's my patriotic duty to give the government as little of my hard-earned money as possible. They didn't earn it, I did.
