In a nutshell he's saying it is all political and he would rather his entry be determined later on by the Veteran's Committee for who he has respect for. It's a rather lengthy article mostly about the controversy he's been involved in after his playing days.

I prefer the Pro Football Hall of Fame where it is more a matter of what happens out on the field and not judgement of the person's character.
