Just blowing off steam. My wife is having the house coated with a hurricane resistant paint called Rhino Hide that costs twice as much paint. I don't have anything against the company or the product but I do have a problem with repair instead of replace.
We live 1.2 miles from the Ocean so we get unsolicited offers 20-30 times the original price of the house. We also paid off the house 25 years ago. That in turn means we could do a tax exempt swap 2-4 miles west of here get a much bigger house, our moving expenses paid and a whole lot more without putting out a penny. The land underneath our house is worth that much. So why is Gail so interested in staying here instead of just getting a more convenient place to go out with her buddies and a larger house?
