Here in liberal NoVa, the liberal school board of TJ High School (the #1 ranked competitive public high school in America) decided there were too many smart Asians acing the admission exam and not enough blacks. So….in order to reduce the number of Asians and increase the number of blacks, they abolished the exam.

Given the SCOTUS’ ruling in which Harvard was prohibited from using race as a factor in whom to admit or reject, a coalition of parents has appealed Tj’s anti-Asian admissions change to the SCOTUS.

Since TJ set out to deliberately reject smart, accomplished students who are Asian, the number in attendance has dropped by 42%. Liberals consider this a success, but the SCOTUS is likely to rule racial discrimination a violation of the Constitution.

Diversity and Merit are in opposition to one another. You cannot promote one without demoting the other.

I say, **** those people in Northern Virginia. They are a source of much that is wrong with the rest of the country. A former President properly labeled them The Deep State. That school SHOULD be ruined by a Diversity campaign; it's only right.

The problem is…..that if the school is ruined due to the liberals’ racist policies, the ones who will suffer are the smart Asians whom the liberals tried to block. (Five will get you ten that they had too many Jews for their liking, also.)

That's because Asians didn't suffer 400 years of institutionalized racism like blacks did. In fact, we are giving them a lot of breaks letting them in when we haven't taken care of our own yet. The problem is these schools aren't really so much "better" than "more prestigious".

Money isn't the issue because there are situations (Baltimore for instance), where the city schools get more money per student than the rest of the counties, but their results are worst than the counties.

That would defeat the original purpose of the school, which was to provide the brightest kids in all of Fairfax County with the most advanced school.

Going school by school, as you suggest, would of course increase the number of blacks as the middle schools in the poor, black area around Rt 1 would send their top 1%, but it would decrease the better scoring Asians elsewhere in the county. And that of course is what the liberals on the TH Board decided to do.

Their intention was to decrease Asians, and they proudly announced their success. So the question remains: is “diversity” the overriding goal, or is “the best in Fairfax County” the goal?

The SCOTUS will decide.

Actually, that's not true, either.

Baltimore spends 22K per student, which sound like a lot.

But that is only factoring in special education and ESL programs, which suburban schools don't really have to worry about.
