They had some great songs, and a lot of hits. Just one dog night now.

Chuck Negron, Three Dog Night Singer, Dies at 83

Chuck Negron, the powerhouse vocalist behind Three Dog Night's biggest hits, has died at his home in Studio City, Los Angeles.

A founding member of the group, Negron's voice drove hits such as "Joy to the World," "One," "An Old Fashioned Love Song," "Easy To Be Hard" and "The Show Must Go On."

He went to college on a basketball scholarship. He said if they had a 3-point line back then he may have set a scoring record.
