CHina brings the pain when it comes to a traffic jam. 36 lane road jammed for miles.

THIS is the astonishing moment China’s 36-lane highway is brought to a standstill as 10 million cars headed home after a national holiday.

Footage shows the 24-hour traffic jam at Wuzhuang toll station, which left thousands stranded with “no way out”.
The Wuzhuang toll station is the largest in China and consists of 36 lanes.

Video shows endless lines of red light filling the lanes before converging into just four at the toll booths.

According to authorities, roughly 120,000 vehicles passed that day.

The unusually long queues were caused by millions of locals returning home after a national holiday, which spans across eight days from October

Officials desperately urged residents to seek alternative routes in a bid to ease the congestion.

Shenzhen’s subway and bus line even extended their operating hours to draw pressure away from the road.

Clips of the mammoth queues have gone viral online with some drawing parallels with India’s traffic jams.

One user said: “Gotta always be ready with food, water, blankers, and a portable toilet lol.

I wonder how many ran out of gas or an electric charge.

I am sure if the Chinese government spends $8 billion USD, the country can build thousands of chargers unlike Biden administration only built eight.
Why should any government build chargers? Did the government build gas stations?

You MAGAs need to stop thinking like socialists.

Didn't stop Biden from spending $8 billion to build like 8 chargers, right?

Again, why should governments build chargers?

I can see why communist China does. They're communist.

Did you ask why the Biden administration spent $8 billion to build like 8? Did you throw a hissy fit then?

You would think that a country with 24 hour surveillance could come up with an EZ Pass system for toll roads.

Actually, China does have the equivalent of EZ Pass on all their toll roads. I spent a month driving around North-west China between provinces and it worked flawlessly.

This month is Moon Festival the second largest holiday of the year (behind Lunar New Year) and it's traditional to travel back to your home town (just like Thanksgiving) making it by far the biggest travel day of the year.

Trains, planes, and buses are fully booked months ahead and the roads are jammed.

The exact same thing happens every year in Korea for the same holiday (which they call Chuseok)

The good news is ... if you live in Beijing (or Seoul) with everyone out of town, it's like "I am Legend". The street are spookily clear of traffic

I call balderdash! I only count 15 lanes!

Essentially, China has imposed a COCOM regime on the US, similar to the one imposed on the USSR in the early 1950s: a ban on the export of any technology, including dual-use technology, related to rare earth metals, a strategic material of the 21st century without which many modern technologies would be impossible.

" In 2020, China was 95% dependent on the US for supplies of helium, which is critical for industrial production.
Beijing implemented a massive program to accelerate helium independence. The result: by the end of 2024, China had reduced its dependence on helium supplies from the US to < 5%.
