Zone1 Charismatic Catholic Priest

I am a lifelong, practicing "cafeteria" Catholic, and I do not do the Confession thing.

While the priest may be able to grant absolution, that is not the only way that sins can be forgiven.

As for the Church's requirement that Catholics go to confession at least once a year, that falls into the category of "man-made laws," which are optional, just like no-meat-on-Friday used to be.

I'm a sinner; what can I say?

The word, "Charismatic" has taken on a new meaning for the past fifty years or so. "Charismatics" are those crazies who spout gibberish and claim they are "speaking in tongues." I think the Catholic position of that phenomenon is, "Bullshit."

Hence, the title to this OP was misleading, at least to me. A Catholic priest who is "charismatic" in that sense would be NEWS.

Both fall under the umbrella of Church teachings. There is something to be said for unified teaching as well as for everyone decides him/herself.

And, yes, sins are forgiven at every Mass. Jesus taught turning away from sin to obedience also forgives sins. Culture today doesn't prize obedience, but is greatly suspicious of it. Didn't used to be that way.
