Yes...the wonderful face of killing the old...from the part of the world that gave us communism, nazism and is now surrendering to islam without firing a shot....

Doctor Who Forcibly Euthanized Patient Cleared by Dutch Court

Without consulting the patient, the doctor put a sleep-inducing drug into the woman’s coffee in order to give her the injection, but then the woman woke up and reportedly“fought desperately” to free herself. At this point, family members were summoned to hold the woman down so that the procedure could be completed.

The woman, who was in her 80s and suffered from dementia, had signed an advance directive to be killed “at the right time” though she had not ratified the request recently. According to case documents, she occasionally exhibited “fear and anger” and several times had been found wandering around the nursing home where she was living.

Medical records revealed that the patient had said “I don’t want to die” several times in the days leading up to her death, yet the doctor chose not to speak with her about her earlier request to receive euthanasia.

These monsters need to be in prison...or executed for their crime....

Why? That's the kind of country you want, 2aguy.

This exact thing happened to a family member of mine. They just did it by withholding simple medication that would've saved his life...as he spoke clearly that he wanted to live at the time, after signing a living will saying "take me at the right time". His power of attorney decided his bank accounts would be more easily accessed if he wasn't around. The HMO seemed to agree with her and the "decision" was made in spite of his protests. God rest his soul. If you're old and belong to an HMO (who profits the less they have to take care of you), you are failing Darwin's test.

How do you figure that...I know you are dumb..since you are a lefty....but how does a modern American Conservative....and a catholic no less, get you to that post? The left wants abortion for the unborn and killing the old....when they serve no purpose and just take from the state.....look at yourself, not me...

"His power of attorney decided"......you know....a "power of attorney" isn't a person.

Yes he does.

So...you guys...who actually support killing unborn humans, and the elderly who are no longer useful.......accuse me of wanting what you guys support and I oppose.....really? The stupid is strong with you two...

2aguyweasel, don't sign a Living Will or End of Life document. But if you do and you go into dementia, the person who is holding your POA literally holds the power of life and death over you. Don't sign it.

It's another Democrat voting drive.

The person he signed power of attorney over to. You know what I meant.

I THINK the argument of the OP is that if we have universal healthcare, "death panels" will exist. What I can assure you of is that I'd much rather gamble with a healthcare system with ample citizen oversight, than an HMO who STANDS TO PROFIT WHEN YOU DIE handling my medical care as I age and retire. After a number of years where they've padded up your premiums you've not yet used in a bank account they control, as you age and start needing medical help more, you are nothing but a losing bottom line.

And so "decisions" like the one made for my family member with the help of the hospital attending which was an HMO, can be made for financial gain and not the longevity of the patient. There's no motive to kill the elderly off like for-profit private insurance. The financial model demands it in fact as a service to shareholders.

HMOs should be illegal. They are where the insurance company IS the hospital. Whereas in normal situations, the hospital and insurance companies are divested financially. Doctors in regular hospitals make the hard calls and wrangle with insurers demanding the patient come first. With an HMO, all that is done 'in house'...and so if there's a question...and the doctor wants to keep his job *ahem*, he sides with the financial bottom line instead of the patient.....which is exactly why an HMO conspired with my family member's power of attorney, who stood also to gain hugely $$ when he died, to kill my family member.

And that is exactly what happened...as he asked to be spared no less from his sickbed. They called that request "merely a delusion" because he had impaired mental capacity (wasn't sure what day it was or who was president when they asked him upon my insistence).
