It's game on. A federal judge just cleared the way for President Trump's plan to downsize the federal workforce with a deferred resignation program. Our government is about to get a little smaller.

Are you tired of winning yet?

Judge clears way for Trump’s plan to downsize federal workforce with deferred resignation program

"WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge on Wednesday cleared the way for President Donald Trump’s plan to downsize the federal workforce with a deferred resignation program.

U.S. District Judge George O’Toole Jr. in Boston found a group of labor unions didn’t have legal standing to challenge the program, commonly described as a buyout.

Trump wants to use financial incentives to encourage government employees to quit. According to the White House, tens of thousands of workers have taken the government up on its offer.

The deferred resignation program has been spearheaded by Elon Musk, who is serving as Trump’s top adviser for reducing federal spending. Under the plan, employees can stop working and get paid until Sept. 30."

The problem is that the Judge essentially gave the plaintiffs a blueprint to sue in the proper venue. He didn't rule on the merits of the law, but on the plaintiffs' standing to bring suit.

This isn't over.

Good... let the Old Pharts depart in peace, with a well-deserved parting gift...

The complaint makes no logical sense. The President is giving employees an option that they can accept or decline.

In another venue, the President's power to fire them is being confirmed.

If someone is wrongfully terminated, they have a case, but I don't see that happening. Even under the latest Democrat-inspired law, if there is a Reduction in Force, then they can be terminated.

And there you have it.

We, the taxpayers, can only hope that they are firing the right people and retaining the right people. There is no question that the bureaucracy is bloated.
