It is headed toward south Texas, yes Houston this is you.

50% chance we have a tropical system in the Gulf next week

While we enjoy our dry weekend, the Gulf tries to come alive

Tracking the Gulf this weekend:

There are two things happening at once in the Gulf of Mexico. The low pressure that plagued us with rain all week gets pushed south from a cool front that is moving through Saturday morning. Another area of low pressure moves into the Bay of Campeche Saturday. This low travels north and will “collect” the moisture from the other low. As of Friday night these combined systems have a 50% chance of becoming a tropical depression or tropical storm early next week.

Deal with your anxiety now then toughen up. You got this.
Just Prepare. I know you have been through a lot:

1. EF-1 Tornado - May 16, 2024
2. Hurricane Beryl July 7, 2024
3. now this... Francine

Some of the models have it going to Louisiana.

chief meteorologist says prepare for no electricity.

Ok, so here's the deal. :stir:

1. A warm system that is already in gulf near Texas has been stirring and heating that area.

2. A disorganized area of low pressure near the Bay of Campeche will become more organized over the next few days and move northward towards the Texas coast

One system already there is what the system in the Bay of Campeche is going to collide with near southern Texas. It will move on into Louisiana and possibly enter into the Mississippi River Valley.

Invest 91L could become known as Francine

Centerpoint Energy just sent out the robo calls to everyone in Houston telling everyone to prepare and get their emergency kits ready. They said prepare for electrical outages.

More crews will be headed to Houston.

They are saying this is a Louisiana storm. It has a tail near south Texas near the gulf area. Could it shift northeast, maybe, but it is a sure hit on Louisiana.

New Orleans just had all those filthy gay parades and parties over there for Labor Day week and now... the place gets destroyed with a hurricane.

An alphanumeric storm
Hurricane Francine

Where by "Invest 91L" (Bay of Campeche) and "System 6" (already in the gulf) bumped into each other, had a quick wedding event, that turned into a ruckus, drunkard, and destructive gathering.

Well, so far my eyes see this storm easing up the southern Texas coast, however they are saying at some point it will shift away from Texas and head more east into Louisiana. It's a wait and see.
