Boston Blue - Wikipedia
I was one of those out-of-touch geezers who watched every single episode of Bluebloods through its entire run. Others on this forum apparently were similarly loyal.
So when this newer show was announced I had a two-fold reaction, specifically, (a) will it be as good as Bluebloods, and (2) Can't Donnie Wahlberg find another character to play?
One of the things that made Blue bloods a good program was that it was not "woke." The Police Commissioner was a WHITE MAN, the demographics of the cast were realistic given the climate of the times, and they didn't shove sexual Irregulars, and other misfits in the face of the viewers. The police, the perpetrators, and victims were all fairly true-to reality.
In the new show, Boston Blue, it's not clear how Danny ends up working for the Boston police, but he ends up thoroughly connected to a partner, who is a Black woman who was a sprinter in college, comes from a multiracial family headed by a Black grandfather-pastor who starts family dinners - a la Blue Bloods - with a Jewish Sabbath prayer.
Hard pass.
