Dear Svetozar,

"The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
but the simple go on and suffer for it."
Proverbs 27:12

Over 60% of Americans believe that violence on or after election day may occur, according to a Scripps News/Ipsos poll. I hope and pray this doesn't happen. But it serves as a stark warning light for our nation. It is critical that we are voting for leaders who will stand for truth and order in society, and also that we are praying for peace in our nation during this significant time.

There have been two assassination attempts this year against former President Trump. And despite calls to turn down the temperature in our politics, the name-calling and heated rhetoric haven't gone away.

So what should Christians do? First, we should pray.

As we see signs that our nation is in perilous times, we must be prudent by going to God in prayer. We should seek His face and ask that His will be done. We should ask that the gospel of Jesus Christ be proclaimed and that the church remain united. And we should ask that He would have mercy on our nation and lead our elected leaders to wisdom, repentance, and faith in Him.

Would you consider joining us by pledging to pray for the election and for the country after November 5? Scripture tells us that if we ask anything according to His will, we can have confidence that He will hear us! (1 John 5:14)

We also need to vote. As you no doubt know, FRC Action is engaged in efforts to make sure Christians are getting to the polls and voting their values by November 5. We have already reached several million voters with our resources and are working to reach more. With less than a week until the election we are working to equip and mobilize them. Every vote matters - including yours!

Please consider signing the below pledge to Pray, Vote, and Stand in 2024, and then rest in the confidence that God reigns above it all.

"His will be done".

Did people not pray that prayer in 2020?

Totally off topic, but I had to reply because this is trippy to me.

I kid you not, less than 10 minutes before I looked at your thread, I JUST read ^ that same Proverb in a "live chat replay" area of a YouTube video I was just watching.

And for some reason, that scripture stood out to me so much, that I even took a screenshot of it.

Then I come here just a few minutes later and see it again in your thread. What are the odds? 😳

But the one I saw is actually Proverbs 22:3, which interestingly says the same exact same thing as Proverbs 27:12. You can look it up by clicking here.

The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
but the simple go on and suffer for it.
Proverbs 22:3

Interesting.....

(and if you don't believe me, I'll post the screenshot) 😝

Sister, they put that one in for every time they drive Sheeple to anxiety , hysteria , fear and panic .
Brings out the, End of the World is Nigh , brigade .

Once things get to boiling pitch -- a good selection of riots and killings --it would be a great time to launch the next Hoax Pandemic .
The next batch of Vaccines are ready and waiting for the Gullibles .
Perhaps some more Weather Manipulation for a great finale .

Project Chaos is great Theatre if you realise what is actually going on .

I agree with you that they purposely create chaos and fear in order to bring about their pre-planned agendas. I've said that myself many times on threads. But that's not what I was talking about.

I was only commenting on the fact that I JUST saw that specific Proverb somewhere else just a few minutes before seeing it on this thread. And it distinctly stood out to me the first time I saw it, which is always interesting... I'm not going to explain that though because it would just sound crazy to you, knowing your views on Christianity.

I am very sympathetic to the words and actions ascribed to Jesus the Essene Monk .
However and imho , the Christian church has tried to become much more than that and that is where I take issue . But separate topics

As to that specific proverb :-
I have no issues other than the comment that there is nothing which ties it to just one group of people or believers .
But it just seems simple general good common sense , and , among intelligent and thoughtful people , it seems that it is barely worth mentioning as it should be close to being self evident .

I guess the key part of it is , "see danger" .
Because if you have not been taught how to do that , or do not have the ability to critically ask questions and ask for explanations , you will never be much good at working out most likely consequences and probable rewards / punishments .

That is why I recall my excellent school experience where they obliged you to engage in General Comprehension, which is another way of saying that you were taught to list all facts and in full detail before looking for connections between them .
This is in simple terms what leads to Critical Thinking and , imho, it is tragic that this is so often frowned on and deliberately ridiculed so that untutored people are more disposed to accept what they are given and to not even deliberate about it .
Part of the deliberate dumbing down times we live in .
So, in a nutshell .-
The quoted proverb's meaning and usefulness is obvious . But the proverb that it should lead to ,is not there .That missing one being so much more important .
