A solid documentary, this is a 4 part, 4 hour look at the 7/7 bombing of London 20 years ago. It is basically two main parts:
Parts 1/2: This is a look at the lead up to, and then the 4 bombings that took place on this day. The producers, deliberately probably, omit any information on the 4 bombers themselves, other than their names and some blurry footage of them. The focus is on the victims and their family members. The attacks and the survivors, as well as many in the police and government, recount what happened.
Parts 3/4: This was all new to me. Two weeks later 4 more bombers tried the same thing. 7/21. The bomb making formula was wrong. The police and MI5 response to this was particularly awful, and what follows is a look at security in London being woefully unprepared and really unable to do anything correctly in the days that followed the 7/7 bombings. This is a response that hopefully has improved greatly.
