The Blue Angels will get in tighter than the Thunderbirds. It helps that Navy allows them more leeway regarding safety.
But the Thunderbirds get in so tight it will raise your shackles. In their pass and review maneuver, they are actually closer together than the Blue Angels ever get, but that is just once per show.
This pass is impressive as I've seen it many times and I'm pretty sure that if the canopies weren't in the way, the trail pilots could reach up and wipe a smudge off the Thunderbird emblem above them.
