He was also charged with child abuse. He faces a maximum of 30 years in prison for leaving his 2 year old daughter in the car while he played video games. My wife and I were talking about this and don't agree with such a harsh prison sentence. It's going to be hard enough for this guy to live with himself. What do you think?

I have a feeling he really isn't all that torn up over it. You are applying your morals and nature to someone who obviously doesn't have them.

Horrific. The issue is that even if it was an accident if you don't have consequences for such neglect people will intentionally leave their babies in a car if they plan on killing them. If you have a child you must apply basic effort in care. It may be more arduous in some instance an others but your child at that age is entirely dependent on your decisions for their life. I try to be forgiving but he will be judged, not just now but in the next life. That poor child suffered unecessarily. We have a generation of mindless drones walking.around, young parents have never been the most prepardd.but today their brains have become mush due to technology.

We raised two kids and of course we were horrified when we heard of what happened. He certainly should face jail time, what I'm saying is 30 years for what was criminal negligence is way too harsh. There are plenty of people who commit intentional murder receiving far less time. He hasn't been sentenced yet.
