Black, atheist and unapologetic: the rise of secularism in African American communities
More Black people are leaving religion, challenging tradition and redefining community
OK, you have the guardian source and then the Google AI. But I’m also asking what people here think about this thread question. There are certainly young pro BLM feminist, black women who are openly atheist, some of them growing up Christian, but becoming atheist.
And some of them view Christianity as a “white man’s religion”. Which of course makes no sense at all as Jesus was not a white man. And Christianity is growing in Africa. Some of the earliest and most pious Christians were black from Ethiopia.
AS someone who embraces equality and respects European in African history we have to stand up to bigotry from blacks or whites. This includes anti-Christian bigotry…And it’s always been really bizarre that some of the pro BLM Democrats are kinda hyped up about this idea of “Christian fascism”. A lot of weird stuff there.
Christianity has played perhaps the biggest role in civilizing the world. Ending slavery. Preaching love, kindness, equality. Standing up for the poor.
