Gino Sorbillo, the owner of one of Naples’ oldest pizzerias, said he believes the food on the fresco may as well just be called a pizza.

“In ancient Pompeii we already knew that there were forms of flatbread, made with grains, water, salt and maybe beer as a leavening agent,” Sorbillo told The Guardian.

“Then they might have topped it with vegetables or the fish of the day. It was an ancient form of pizza.”

Looks burnt....Oh wait!

Also.... seeing those colors as vibrant as they are... the cities back then must have been epic sights to see. Not the washed out shells they are today.
