This is a dummy that represents Laura’s “him” that she can’t accept doesn’t like her. We are trying to figure out what we can do with him to make her get over him and move on.

So, the station crew starts shuttling this dummy around town as a publicity stunt, when he get kidnapped while his "guardian" went into a shop to get some coffee.
