The deadly blast in Kabul this week has reignited a debate on deporting Afghan refugees from Germany to war-torn Afghanistan. After pledging to reassess the situation, the German chancellor stopped the practice for now.

The article is incorrect. The halt is limited to women and children. Every deportation is subject to investigation, Merkel underlined.

However, if they would know about the actual situation in Afghanistan, they would not deport anymore.
