I picked this one up yesterday. It was in poor shape finish-wise. It was covered with rust from stem to stern. The wood was OK but dry. It's in .30 WCF (.30-30).
I got the rust off but it had ate into the blue. Mechanically and bore wise it was just fine.....20" octagon barrel.
It's engraved. Most all the screws are silvered and engraved. The loading gate is silvered.
Checkered wrist and fore stock.
Sadly, someone put modern sling swivel studs on it.
Then it dawned on me.....It had been restocked with more of a shotgun-type stock set than a rifle one!
I gave $700.00 for it as all it has is shooter value now. I'll work on it more today.
