After watching Alabama's miserable performance against Florida State on Saturday, I think Alabama will be lucky to win 8 games this year. Very lucky. There were too many missed passes, inexcusable costly penalties, poor blocking, etc., etc. They did not look well coached. They were lucky to score their second TD.

Kalen DeBoer and his staff seemed to have no answers for what Florida State was doing. Very sad. The Pac-12 is not the SEC, and Kalen DeBoer is no Nick Saban.

You have to remember that FSU's OC is former Auburn head coach Gus Malzhan. Gus has made a career out of beating Alabama as an offensive coordinator and head coach.

Maybe Alabama is just jinxed by him!

The CriminNoles looked really good. Their QB from BC looked terrific. Every time Bama threw a pass, there was a CrimiNole in great coverage position for it. The CrimiNoles won both lines of scrimmage.

6-8 wins for the Tide this year is reasonable from that data point.

Now you can get paid anywhere and legally. ALA has lost it's edge it has always had.

That LSU QB, on the other hand, looked like the #1 pick in next years draft, and people are saying if the Saints are not the worst team in the NFL they better play like it.

Saban really was the heart and soul of that team and now it has been ripped out from them.

Who knew?

Malzahn was 3-5 against Saban. Still, 3-5 vs. Saban is a better record than that of most other coaches who faced Saban.

So I'm seeing something on YT that their star wide receiver paints his fingernails?

There is a picture that was shown with him wearing nail polish. In order to win like people expect you have to run a tough, hard nosed program that will not accept mistakes, like Saban always ran. Maybe that is what is missing on this team, but in fairness, Saban's success came before all the money being paid out to players.

No, Saban took Alabama to the final four of the CFP in 2023, which was after players started getting paid. Alabama narrowly lost to Michigan, the eventual champion, in overtime.

But, I agree that DeBoer seems to be running a loose ship with a lack of discipline.

It all boils down to speed and size. ALA 2nd and 3rd team used be loaded more than 1st string on other teams. No more is that going to be true. This is the PROS now and it seems to be bringing NFL style parity.

The Coach can also make a difference.

**on a Sirius radio talk show, I heard Debores boys were ordering Grub-Hub junk food late night before the game at FSU. They said that would have NEVER HAPPENED under Coach Nick Sabian.

He left knowing what paying collegiate football players was going to do.

Yeah, now the pendelum has swung to the other extreme. The NCAA could have avoided this if they had been reasonable about it from the outset.

I can't get too excited about Alabama's win over Louisiana-Monroe, which is the size of a community college. The Tide were essentially playing a high school football team.
