The quackers are having a hell of a good season. Enjoyed watching them cast a shadow all the way across Happy Valley yesterday. I am mostly just glad Alabama is out. I hate them. They are my Washington Redskins of college football. I guess I will root for TN and/or Oregon.

Agreed. I was pleasantly surprised. Had SMU lost by more than a walkoff FG I think they get left out.

They are going to have to tweek how the bracket is constructed somehow. The 5 and 6 seeds have the easiest path to the semis and that will likely always be the case the way it’s currently put together.

I'm a big Alabama fan, but I agree. The Tide simply did not deserve to get in the playoffs instead of SMU. They just didn't. They had a super-easy non-conference schedule. Their 24-3 loss to unranked, 5-5 Oklahoma was just inexcusable and voided any argument they might have had for making the playoffs.

I say it at least took some balls to put Clemson AND SMU in the playoffs over Alabama, and is a good look for the committee as far as legitimacy.

That being said, it was as easy as a hat tip to the small guys one could get.
