A thread to discuss the influence of a foreign government on our politicians. Our politicians who are now going against the Will of the American people of who most Americans do not support the government of Israel. The numbers have flipped after the brutal invasion of Gaza among other things. Including powerful Israelis and they’re supporters in the USA calling for the suppression of free speech.

Is this about Jews? No ….is this about Israel’s existence? No …do I care about a small percentage of Americans calling people like me anti Jewish for criticizing a foreign government and their lobby….no.

Let’s start with the NYS politicians including democrats

How about Hakeem Jeffries huh. How many times have we heard that this guy is some kind of a big-time lefty …. some people have claimed that he’s some kind of a Muslim supremacist or something like that. Well This guy is one of AIPACS favorites.

  • AIPAC — the American Israel Public Affairs Committee — is a tax-exempt 501(c)(4) non-profit group that lobbies for strong U.S.-Israel relations and pro-Israel policies.

AIPAC’s board members are listed here (pages 7-8). These are some of the infamous AIPAC “babysitters” that roam the halls of Congress and twist the arms of our elected officials.

  • AIPAC PAC is the group’s political action committee used to raise funds and directly contribute to candidates who align with their pro-Israel agenda.

In short, AIPAC focuses on lobbying and advocacy, while AIPAC PAC focuses on direct financial support for political candidates.

  • United Democracy Project (UDP) is AIPAC’s affiliated Super PAC. Unlike traditional PACs, Super PACs can raise and spend unlimited amounts of money to influence elections, but they are prohibited from coordinating directly with candidates or campaigns.

UDP focuses on independent expenditures, such as advertising and voter outreach, to promote pro-Israel candidates.

  • The American Israel Education Foundation (AIEF) is a nonprofit organization affiliated with AIPAC. It is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, meaning donations to it are tax-deductible.

AIEF organizes educational trips to Israel for members of Congress, their staff, and other influential individuals, to feed them propaganda about Israel's strategic, political, and cultural landscape.

Should we all object to all lobbies?

Or should we all object only to the lobbying efforts of other nations to lobby OUR government?

Why do some people react with such alarm to the efforts of Israel to do that which is perfectly legal?

Israel has an outsized level of influence on election outcomes and public policy.
That said, I would appreciate this level of scrutiny on the lobby spending for all foreign countries and supporting entities.

Of course that’s fair. I would be opposed to any person from Israel or Australia or Mexico or you name it coming to America influencing our politicians to for example suppress our rights. Well one can say that the Israeli lobby is at the very least among the most powerful foreign lobby groups in America if not the most powerful. It’s not just that they have donated lots of money to American politicians, but they are also directly attempting to get involved in controlling free speech. You have had plenty of examples of powerful Israelis coming to America dictating to us effectively saying the first amendment needs to be changed and that the platforms need to be controlled. Sadly both Democrats and Republicans have gone along with them and have supported various measures to control speech.

Glenn reacts to the ADL's demands to censor Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes, and Hasan Piker.

Last time I checked, house members represent their district, not the entire country. All of these people represent republican districts and most Republicans support Israel.

I had U.A.E and Qatar in mind and yes these others as well.

And I don’t think most Republican voters support suppressing free speech, which is what much of the Israeli lobby has called for as already shown by the linked sources in this thread.

This AIPAC influence is unacceptable. Again most Americans including a significant number of young conservatives are against the Israeli lobby attempting to stifle free speech in America. So it’s not just the problems of the Israeli lobby influencing our politicians or the war in Gaza… but it’s also the free speech issue.

Stop lying. AIPAC is not suppressing free speech. If it could, you'd be the first to be silenced.

Last time I checked House members represent ALL the constituents in their districts, not just the "young conservatives".

They are doing their jobs. Representing the consensus majority of the people who vote for them.
