I am a "jazz pianist" not nearly at the level of the tracks presented in this video. But it is fascinating to watch a true jazz pianist struggling to pick which tracks are real and which are AI generated. He was 5 out 5, I was 3 out 5. See how you do! This is scary, the only thing I have going for me is I can play live in front of people and AI can't. At least not yet.

Wow! Far easier to do with voice! I can't play a note on any musical instrument, so it's totally beyond me!

I do have a bit of an idea about "musicality", but I'm still stumped.

The advances AI training has made in just the last couple of years is stunning. My understanding is the AI program has to start with real pianist tracks (or other musician) to be "trained" and then creates a database of chords, progressions, rhythms etc. Then a person can piece together a composition using a mapper tool. I personally think that music (and any art form) should be a purely human endeavor, but that ship has already sailed.

And just think, we wasted a couple of millennia making music with our own human talent.

Yeah, this ain't good folks. No computer will ever replace Kiri Te Kanawa or Placido Domingo, but it will be nice to not have to pay that huge orchestra!
