True story. The local middle school provides feminine hygiene products to the students. They do not dispense them in the bathroom. Students have to go to the office but they are pretty much free to take what they need in the moment (under office staff supervision). I happened to see a young middle school lady retrieving a tampon from the office. Four minutes later she was standing in the doorway off the bathroom with the same tampon (unwrapped & dispensed) sticking out of her nose.

Putting tampons in school bathrooms of either gender, is a waste of money because the students will misuse them. This student was even misusing the one she got while under the supervision of the office staff.
