A Promising Trend: Businesses Kicking Unruly Customers OUT

Thank God I'm seeing this more and more on social media: managers refusing to serve rude customers, kicking them out, and banning them from returning.

I have often said two things ruined our society:

1. "The customer is always right" AND
2. "We want to hear from you!"

21st century business owners and managers know the customer is OFTEN wrong and some people should just keep their mouths shut. And now those people are being expelled. It's about time the American public learn that "open to the public" does NOT mean "must serve every moron who comes through the door".

 
I hate drive throughs as a customer.

Nothing against the businesses that have them, but if given ANY other choice, I park the car and walk inside.

#1 I dislike giving orders through a speaker/mic from inside the car. Easy to get an order wrong - and I'm not blaming the employee, I blaming the communication system.

#2 I'm 99.9% of the time the driver meaning I have to relay the order from the wife and/or those in the back seat.

#3 If there is any kind of line, you will often get faster service by walking in.

#4 It's easier to check the order was correct.

Frankly, I'm not seeing it.

The customer was polite. The minimum wage troll at the drive-through was nasty to him.

And I'm pretty sure that video went to McDonald's (I am assuming it's McDonald's) HQ and someone got a talking to by Human Resources.

Good point, but generally, if I'm using the drive through, it's probably because I'm busy.

I also noticed that most places will have a digital screen that displays your order, so you can make sure the person got it right.

(I like my hamburgers a very particular way, so I check to make sure they got it right.)
 
A business needs to stand up for their employees and eject anyone who is violent, abusive or profane.

I entirely agree.

The person in Sue's video wasn't abusive, violent, or profane.

He just wanted his order made right.

Which means he didn't want them half-assing it when mixing it.

I like my burger well done so I just go in so as to not hold-up the line.

There's a Mom & Pop burger/ice cream place in town that has the best of both but they tend to cook their burgers medium so I go in.

I believe that Chick Fil-A got the idea for staff to take orders outside when busy from Spelunkers as they have been doing it for years.

The place always has a line to the point you can't even get into the lot at times.

Even if they are in the right, restaurants don’t want employees responding in kind or escalating a situation

Sometimes you have to "fire" a customer and take the social media lumps.

Make "Soup Nazi" great again!



True, but I think people are just as sick of eggheads as businesses are. I'm not sure the lumps are what they used to be.

When I went to school, you did not look sideways at a teacher.

Yeah, funny thing, I went to a school like that, and we had psycho teachers, (many in the clergy) who just got off on tormenting children.

No, thank you.

Frankly, if you can't handle a small kid who uses bad words, you probably should be doing something else for a living.

The customer is the one doing the filming and so of course, they are not going to incriminate themselves right then. Do keep in mind that their prior experiences at the place are most likely not on film to watch as well.

Sending a child to the principal's office is how a teacher should respond when the child is disruptive enough.

Sometimes even being nice to a customer can only make things worse. McDonald's was my first job and one of my female co-workers got verbally jumped on by a male customer and the nicer that she was to the guy, the more furious he became. I don't know what his problem was, but eventually, my co-worker couldn't take his filth any longer and so she just took off for our break room so that she could do her crying in there and crying is what she was in there doing because I followed after her. She was one of my favorites from my time at that job. She was nice, she wasn't lazy, and to me, she looked like she could be Barbra Streisand's daughter or granddaughter. :) :) :)

Heaven Forbid.

1. Schools are babysitting services. A point educators hate to admit and often won't. So, kicking kids out of school is a bid deal.
2. Parents are all to often "Not my Jimmy (or Sally or Jasmine or Rashad). It's the schools fault.
3. Administrators DO NOT have the backs of teachers.
