A possible new sub forum...

The real question is where it would best reside.

I've enjoyed playing with AI image generation through a few different models, primarily Midjourney. My avatar is a creation from an image I made in Midjourney. I wanted something new and not a significant burden on the forum resources. I had a lot of fun making it.

I will start a poll to see if there is any interest in having a subforum for AI image generation and to see how creative the forum residents can get.

The question is, should this subforum be under:

• Arts & Crafts
• Science & Technology
• Reviews
• Photography & Imaging

Of course, this all sort of depends on the forum mods. I think that the risk to the board is nominal as the images created will be copyright free.

The format of the subform would be something like a Post must start with your text prompt.
The prompt must also include an reference image used to create the new image.
And then either a link -- not really recommended as it could give away private information -- or an embedded image taken from the created image URL.

I use AI a lot in my painting. I design the image, mostly using Night Cafe, or combine more than one, then paint the image in oil.

It would be Arts and Crafts.

No. I don't have photos hope. I have used Leonardo and Copilot.

It can be much more than just a 'show your stuff' type forum. By including prompting discussions can be had about various techniques on image generation. It would be a great learning opportunity for those who haven't given it a try.

Plus it would provide a go-to spot to showcase the talents of the community.

Ah ... Steampunk is just a genre.

I can appreciate it for what it is ... As I do most art, with a few exceptions ...
And I don't care if my tastes are a bit too avant garde for others ...
