Good point. Worth doing your research before traveling to these areas. It's safe to say that any urban area run by democrats isn't safe.

Some will surprise you. Minneapolis, Minnesota used to be a fine, safe place, and now I wouldn't go there on a bet.

My home town of Sioux Falls, South Dakota used to be totally safe when I was a kid, but I wouldn't go there after dark these days. And it's governed by a Republican mayor, as are most of the more populated cities in SD.
