2 types of prayer gestures

Christianity is a syncretic religion. It absorbed the chthonic and heavenly cults( shamanism and vedism) at the same time. This was reflected in the gestures. It is very likely that the Oranta prayer comes from an appeal to heaven, and bows to the earth from the chthonic worship of the underground king Plutos / Hades.

The old gesture of pointing with 2 fingers to the sky apparently also comes from a heavenly cult

there is also such a gesture from Zoroastrianism

But in Orthodoxy, all these heavenly and pectoral gestures are performed only by priests. Is this also the case in Western Christianity?
