I usually shy away from the 3rd gen. Universals but this was a early one (walnut stock) and appeared in good condition.

But it came with so much "stuff" I could not turn it down for the price.

It came with five GI mags, 248 rounds of ammo, two GI slings/oilers, a scope mount, bolt tool, and two GI mag pouches.

They came D&Ted for a Weaver side mount so I ordered one for it rather than use the one that came with it that replaces the rear sight.

That's a great purchase. The M1 Carbine was made primarily for the paratroopers. Enjoy its use on the range.

If were a WWII soldier I would prefer the M1 carbine.
I have shot one.
They are accurate and have low recoil.

I'll pass, thanks.

Odd thing though, if I sold it for parts I'd almost double my money.....Parts for those things bring stupid money.....Go figure.
Yeah, I understand that. My time is more valuable than going through the effort to peddle them.

The older I get the more willing I am to pay someone to do the jobs I would have been happy to do earlier in my life.

I would rather do the things I want to do, then do actual "work" stuff.

I don't need the money neither but that is not the point....It's there if I want to make money on it. ;)

Like I said, more effort than it's worth to me. If I buy a gun, it's because I like it, and while I may sell it later, that's never a point of consideration for me.

But you're not me!
