I found this square-butt J-frame example yesterday....Decent shape with a nice vintage Bucheimer "federal man" holster....I added the T-grip adaptor....It's in .38 Special.

Like most snubs of it's vintage, carried a lot but shot little.

She's purdy. 😍

I have a similar Bucheimer holster for my Cobra. I was practicing some Bill Jordan speed draw moves this summer with wax bullets, so I put an extra snap on the holster the keep the retention strap out of the way.

Kinda wish I'd kept the original grips though, those Pachmayrs print like I'm carrying a 'possum under my shirt.

The good thing about the Baucheimer holster is you can just remove the snaped strap, as it has a snap on both sides.....I had one like it for my Cobra that I used as a coup de grâce revolver when deer hunting. It was nice having the strap available when bouncing about on the 4-wheeler.

As for EDC I use an open-top Azula OBW holster for my 2nd gen Cobra.

I just ordered one like it for my Kimber Micro-9....The Kramer holster that came with it did not provide enough retention to suit me.

The Azulas are very good holsters at a very reasonable price, they break in quickly, and hold up well....The one in the pic is about six years old and it's used daily.

Well, the Bucheimer holster I have doesn't have a removable retention strap. As you can see, it's sewn onto the holster body and snaps over the part that goes around the belt.

That's a pretty brown pancake holster on that Cobra. I'd love to find one of those someday. The best holster I've ever found is the one I've used for the last 7 years. It's a Milt Sparks IWB I found at a garage sale. The holster is so concealable and comfortable I forget that I'm wearing it sometimes, even under a light summer shirt.
