I picked up this Model 36 this morning. It's in great shape. Not a nick on it.

Must have been a early one as I thought the Glenfield rifles had birch stocks but this one has plain walnut.

Looking at the bolt face. loading gate, and bore I don't think it been shot hardly at all.

I'll likely replace the scope with a Redfield 1 X 4 X 25.

I've got one of those minus the scope. Mine is a late 80s vintage Mod. 30 AS though and it has a checkered stock. I bought it new and I bet I haven't put two boxes of ammo through it.

Most of the Glenfield/Marlin Model 36s had birch stocks but the early '64 production had walnut.

The only real difference between the Model 36 and a 336 SC (sporting carbine) is a one round shorter magazine and the lack of a ramp front sight.

A 1949 336 SC I have.

IMHO the Model 36 is the more handsome of the two.

My purchase was more because "I've always wanted one." LOL, I quit hunting long before I bought it.
