I picked this one up today.....$600.00

It's in .300 Savage....I even got a box of cartridges with it.

5-shot rotary internal magazine.

It has a set of Redfield "Quick Switch" scope mounts which allows you to flip the scope out of the way for iron sight use. It came with a 4 X 32 scope.

I'll likely switch out the mount for a one piece Redfield mount and a 2 X 5X Redfield scope.

I absolutely love those. So much more elegant than a BLR. I'd probably get it in .308 though. Maybe even .22-250. Not sure how the barrels hold up with the latter.

You have good taste!

.300 Savage does not give up much to .308 within 200 yards. Ammo is available in most well stocked shops and on line.

My model is a 99 EG.

I know. I do have a great respect for that caliber, but I certainly don't seem to see it around much in my neck of the woods. I also have plenty of 308 lying around already. And there's too much going on in my life these days to get into reloading. 🫤

Interesting! 5 shot internal rotary magazine? It does not look like it has the room, but maybe I am just not familiar with the actual size of .300 rounds. Somebody says rifle with a rotary magazine, my mind goes to Bull in El Dorado.

Later production saw a detachable rotary mag but it only held three rounds.

I hate to sound weapon illiterate, but 1953 is the year before I was born. YouTube shows how to make the rounds, but did not show how they actually went into the internal rotary magazine, and that is after rephrasing the question, looking for demo. They even have a vid on collecting those things, but nothing on rotating and loading the magazine.

You don't "rotate" anything....You feed the cartridges in and it rotates on it's own. There's even a cartridge counter window on the side as you will see in the video.

7:45 in this video.

Odd thing about the rotor/cartridge counter on my example.....Brass was in short supply due to the Korean War so they made them of case hardened steel.

This is a brass example:

You can see how the cartridges lay on it.
