Here's a oddball Winchester, a Model 74 semi-auto in .22 LR made in 1952. It's in superb shape with a nice shiny bore.

It came with a side mount scope that was broke, so I took it off and put filler screws in the mount holes. The 24" barrel lets me still see the iron sights OK. I gave $150.00 for it.

My Dads rifle same model but different year if my memory is correct1929? A great all around rifle.

My dad has one like that when I was little.

They made them from 1939-1955 so likely a bit later.

The feeding is a bit strange as the cartridge "leaps" into the chamber much like many of the butt-feeders. Very fast.

I'm not familiar with that rifle, but I'm sure many young Americans were introduced to firearms with that one.
