Due to the massive Police State which rewards the Creepy Ones sometimes with budget increases of 23% while every other social program in Ontario is cut, this is the outcome. Kids are treated like pet cats here, "they need medical help, you can't afford private care therefore the state owns your children now".

Why do American Creepy Ones support the Canadian agencies? Wake up America before you become a backwards state of heartless heathens.

They are often at risk of harming themselves or others. But instead of getting the urgent medical care they need, kids across the province are being abandoned to children’s aid societies by desperate families that have run out of options.
In the past year alone, the Ontario ombudsman’s office has investigated 15 cases in which parents were forced to surrender their children with complex health needs to CAS to get the treatment and support they require.

The unsettling disclosure, revealed Wednesday in the watchdog’s annual report, comes 20 years after the ombudsman’s office first flagged forced abandonment as a concern, and underscores urgent systemic issues that must be addressed, the report says.
“It’s a serious problem,” Paul Dubé, the ombudsman since 2016, said in a news conference. “It’s going to call for more investment and a commitment to make sure that community care is there.”

Dubé said the stories his office has heard from parents are “heartbreaking and harrowing.”
At the heart of the problem is a provincewide lack of intensive treatment and supports that is also forcing child welfare agencies to take desperate measures, such as housing kids in hotels, Airbnbs, offices and other unlicensed settings — a practice the ombudsman is also investigating in a report expected this fall.
Dubé declined to discuss that ongoing investigation, but said the report looking into children being housed in inappropriate settings will be released in the coming months.

It is crazy and draconian The state is now footing the bill for child care and to provide for this kids.

Why not just pass a law and give people with kids who are struggling some extra money.

Either way the state is paying for it but this way the family is still together.

If parents who could afford it and are just neglecting the child then that is another story.
Then the parents should lose custody.

the parents want the state to care for the child or children.
