Does the show, Leftovers, get better?

I only watched the first two episodes of season 1. It's interesting, but soooooooo slow. It hasn't hooked me yet. I know it's been getting some buzz online, and I do like Justin Theroux in other stuff. I also like Carrie Coon in Fargo season 3. So does this show get better? If so, around which...
