that is one rep I wish I didn't get. what is it some people don't get about 911? have they ever met anyone who was there and survived? please don;'t insult an Arab or a Muslim or some other protected other of the day but feel free to denigrate and trash Americans and their pain.

There were actually Republicans in Jefferson's time as well. They were vastly different than the Republicans of Lincoln's time, however. Lincoln's Republicans were the same as the old Whig Party, which was basically the same as the the Federalist Party which was opposed to Jefferson's Republicans. With the Democrats and Republicans of today I'd say we've got two Federalist Parties pretending to be different from one another.
