I've been on a huge Fahey kick lately. His style is just so impressive—incorporating country, blues, and modern classical sensibilities. It's incredible.

There are also leftists who don't vote and engage in revolutionary struggle. For example, communists and anarchists don't usually participate in electoral politics. They also—for the most part—want to abolish the existence of the government because they see it as an instrument of capital.

Most of those sound like things centrists would support—not leftists. Unless you consider liberals like those in the Democratic Party to be leftists. Communists, anarchists, etc are typically seen to be left-wing throughout most of the world. But again, I'm not a huge fan of the left/right divide.

I don't understand the desire to reduce the complexity of that dichotomy to an essence—especially considering its relativity to time and culture. Although, if I'm being honest, I'm not the biggest fan of the left/right divide. I feel like no matter what we do it will always be reductive.
