The US Navy's next advanced aircraft carrier is 70% complete

Russia just recently showcased a hypersonic missile that can travel at 10 times the speed of sound. there is just little protection a high value target like an aircraft carrier can call on to defeat such a missile. imagine a missile costing 5 million able to destroy a 5 billion dollar carrier.

Why would Putin want to nuke Florida

i've wondered about the same thing. maybe there is hidden fallout command bunker or hidden military facility that Putin wants to showcase as a first response target.

Egyptians weren't black , more of a reddish color.

yeah i tend to agree that the Egyptians would have resembled the richness of their surroundings and trading partners in looks. dark in skin and complexion. i bet the royals and aristocrats would have married the most exotic from foreign lands. choosing those that had looks different than those...

Russia to offer MiG-29 aircraft at Argentina’s tender for fighter jets More: http://tass.com/defens

British soft power is savaging Argentina and not just militarily but also financially. it will continue until Argentina relinquishes its claims over the Falkland Islands. the amount of MIG-29's it wants to buy is around 15. that's an operational squadron. not a great deal of fighters to cripple...

Russia to offer MiG-29 aircraft at Argentina’s tender for fighter jets More: http://tass.com/defens

i can understand the Argentines wanting to go for politically favourable Russian kit but the MIG-29, really! what a lemon... if they must go for non western fighters they should at least go for the SU-35. Su-35 has long legs, great radar, counter measures and able to carry the new gen air to...

F-22 fails in Syria, pilots say

luckily cool heads on both sides have avoided such a confrontation. Russian SAM's are there to claim ownership of Syria and American fighters are there to make sure that its foreign policy objectives (namely the Kurds) are not messed with. Its definitely an interesting conflict that resembles...

There are 242% more US forces in Syria than the Pentagon had previously acknowledged

sure, on the surface it would seem like America is there to destroy ISIS but everything they have done to date smacks of helping the Kurds, imo.

F-22 fails in Syria, pilots say

i imagine its possible because the reason F-22's are in Syria in the first place has something to do with the powerful radars the Russians are using to monitor Syrian air space... specifically the S-400 and S-300 complexes. Russian SAM's have the ability to deny American 4th gen aircraft freedom...

    India considering bailing on SU-57

well I hope you’re right. if the F-35 has an encounter within visual range then it’s in trouble.

    India considering bailing on SU-57

so the price of the F-35 can come down, according to you but the SU-57 can't? that doesn't sound right. operational controlled military hardware, especially for a regional power like India is paramount. spare parts, upgrades and confidentiality are all national issues that transcend the concept...

    India considering bailing on SU-57

well you're assuming that the future opponents of the F-35 will not move ahead with radar and electronic warfare counter measures. with 8 million lines of code keeping the F-35 airborne and fighting the robotic F-35 is heavily dependent on this new war fighting drone like doctrine. maybe too...

    India considering bailing on SU-57

i agree that the F-35 is without industrial and technological equal at the moment and prolly will stay that way. for what it does and the common platform that it provides for multiple missions makes it an exceptional fighter. but not a traditional fighter.
