    Government Passenger Rail (Amtrak)

I took a overnight Amtrak from L.A. to Salem, OR about 20 yrs ago. Would have been fine if it wasn't an El Nino year so got stopped near Mt Shasta due to mud slides in front and behind our train. No announcement whatsoever when our Amtrak bus was loading to take us to Salem. Only by the grace of...

    The Great Western Parks (U.S.)

September in California could be downright hot. It's our hottest month of the year IMO. If you decide to make it this far west, you may want to try the coastal route through the redwoods and some nice beach rv parks.

Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Mandatory Bucket List

The other part is scoring a ticket to a costume ball sponsored by one of the krewes.

    Best Animated Movies?

This animated movie is kind of off the beaten path but very thought provoking. It's set during what I assume are the last years of WWII in Japan but from the perspective of what Japanese children were going through. It's Miyasaki-esque.

    Where Are You From?

Los Angeles, CA plus a couple little cities in the same area that we still call Los Angeles. Yup, all of my 60 years (and folks say nobody is ever FROM California - LOL).

    Mom's Kitchen Cafe

What a wonderful idea. Thank you for sharing. I wish I could convince my family that crock pot meals were yummy. Don't get me wrong. I live with my elderly dad and niece with dad doing the cooking because he loves cooking and it keeps him busy. Frankly, I suck at cooking except for crock pot...

    Cheesy grits with crispy bacon.

Think the texture of cream of wheat. We add a beaten egg, onions and cheese and make it like a creamy grits souffle. And no, I may be a minority but I don't consider myself poor. It's just a cultural food much in the way of how scrapple is super yummy to people.

    New Orleans Hauntings

I haven't been around lately so just saw this. I was wondering how your trip to "Nawlins" was. Did you do some ghost hunting? I know I've seen some things on the Destination America channel but for the life of me, can't remember exactly where in New Orleans. My guess would be obviously the...

    Do You Complain At Restaurants?

I agree with the ignore part. I've often even gone into the servers stations to get something. OTOH, I definitely won't send something back either. I've seen (and probably experienced) where if there was a food issue, the "new" item has been messed with somehow. (I think my local pizza hut got...

Books to Movies you wish would happen.

For years I wanted all of Terry Brooks' Shannara series done but now that they are, I'm disappointed on how they were interpreted. I guess I was expecting more Tolkien-ish.

The catacombs of Paris the place seems haunted

I've heard about these but I don't think I have the heart nor the stomach to actually visit.

Singapore: a car filmed coming from nowhere

I hear ya. I agree that that dang car just "appeared."

Singapore: a car filmed coming from nowhere

I was gonna go with the underground parking theory but looking at the video again, I don't see any evidence of an underground opening. I would think the gray car blended in with the shadows.

    My ghostly encounters!

I worked for a graduate school of psychology, located in a converted hospital. 1) I'm sure I saw a man walk "through" our lunch table from another era. He was wearing a white shirt and pencil thin black tie. 2) Saw a smallish human form image sitting in the corner of a coworkers office and...
