I don't think the issue this thread is protesting is income inequality so much as wealth inequality, which is an entirely different, if related, issue.
Raising income tax doesn't address wealth inequality AT ALL. Why? Because the "1%" generally don't receive a vast amount of what we define as...
While I think the idea of 'hate crimes' is ridiculous, I wouldn't go even vaguely this far. As far as I'm concerned, racial hatred isn't internally worse than any other kind of hatred; it doesn't deserve it's own category with more strict punishment.
