If they shop and eat at the same places I do, then yes their new wages are offset by increased prices. It is why the left keeps pushing for higher and higher wages because the increases never make things more affordable in the end.

It may make things more geopolitically difficult, but as an American consumer, I don't see a lot of difference between his tariffs and a left-wing minimum wage hike. They both decrease purchasing power.
